A little glitter for the holidays can take your look to a whole new level and add some festive bling! Just in time for the season, Revlon has released the limited edition Photo Ready Eye Art: Lid + Line + Lash. These glimmering, dual-ended tubes contain liquid eye shadow on one end and glitter on the other which can be worn individually or paired together.
Shades: Lilac Luster & Fuchsia Flash
I think this is a fantastic idea and I like that Revlon expertly matched each shadow to a lovely glitter with a contrasting texture. The tubes are available in 10 gorgeous shades from: green, peach, topaz, cobalt and lilac for a great range of glam effects.
The liquid shadow is creamy at first with an applicator similar to that of a lip gloss. While wet, you can blend and work with the color but once dry the texture is very flat so it tends to settle into the skin which can cause creasing. The shadow also takes a while to dry so you do have to wait before applying the glitter or else the color smears around and looks untidy.
The glitter end contains a clear liquid base and a brush applicator that distributes the particles quite sparsely and feels very wet before drying. I found that the application process wasn't as efficient as I’d hoped and it was a bit difficult to achieve a consistent layer of glitter which makes it even trickier to use it as a liner. For more sparkle you can also add shimmer to your lashes or use the glitter on the entire lid area.
Once both formulas set they are long-lasting and the glitter does not budge so it didn't get all over my face and look messy like other formulas I've tried. The shadow feels dry on the skin so I recommend using some type of cream based primer for more comfort.
Glitter swatched over shadow
Although the Eye Art tubes look dazzling in the packaging they didn't produce the effect I expected and since the formula is tricky to work with application takes practice. The shadows retail for $11.49 at drugstores nationwide.
